A sought after destination
This corner of South Devon has a stunning coastline with a challenging coastal footpath and some of the finest sailing waters in the UK. There are broad sandy beaches, little rocky coves and secluded inlets. Dartmoor, right on your doorstep, has 368sq miles to explore: rugged tors, moorland streams, deep wooded valleys, prehistoric barrows, quiet pools, ancient pathways and wild open moors.
South Hams and South Devon’s climate is generally mild all year round. By owning a holiday lodge at Palstone you can enjoy the first breath of spring, the breathtaking autumn colours, the occasional tumble of snow on Dartmoor, as well as the long and lazy summer months.

The nearest town to Palstone is Totnes (8 miles). Totnes is famous as England’s alternative centre, it has plenty of not so alternative shops, a large Morrisons, regular and lively markets and good restaurants.

Plymouth is the nearest city (16 miles) and has one of the most spectacular waterfront settings in the UK. Plymouth city centre has been the focus of a major makeover with a dynamic new shopping mall as its focal point. The Theatre Royal is the third most important regional theatre in the country and there is also a modern Vue Cinema complex with 15 screens.

Matt and his family have been lucky enough to live just a 10 minute walk away from a bustling “proper” village where people are welcoming and have the time of day to stop and chat. South Brent has the diversity of shops anyone could wish for. All of our existing lodge owners are avid “Brentonians” often ordering from Neil the butcher prior to their visit or requesting a certain product from one of our artisan shops. South Brent carnival is held twice a year – a feast of entertainment and great fun. The stunning landscape of Dartmoor National Park is here to enjoy. The river Avon winds its way from Dartmoor through South Bent and sets the scene for some of the best scenery in the UK. The walks and cycle tracks abound – amazing footpaths and national nature reserves await (ladys wood). All of this right on your doorstep.
